We’re a team of experienced Central Victorian builders and project managers.
We are Registered Domestic Builders and members of the Master Builders Association of Victoria. Company Director, Dugald Campbell has over 19 years experience in both domestic and commercial construction as a skilled carpenter and project manager.
In 2015 Dugald decided to set up for himself in his home town of Castlemaine. Since then we’ve grown from a team of two to a crew of more than 15 exceptional local builders and carpenters. We’ve firmed up our relationships with a network of expert local trade and craftspeople and we’ve locked in project management systems that ensure our projects run smoothly, meet deadlines and that we consistently bring our client’s visions to life.

When someone meets with us they’ve already invested time and money creating their unique plan. Whether that’s for a new deck or a new home, we want to understand their vision and help them see it through to completion. We believe how a project is managed makes all the difference and you’ll see it in how we work and what we’re able to deliver.
We love property and our region. We’re actively involved in our community and support many of the local sporting clubs, associations and events that make it such a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Dugald Campbell
Director
A skilled carpenter with nearly two decades of building experience, Dugald’s ability to expertly manage multiple projects and oversee a sizeable team drives our business.
Inspired and passionate about the industry, Dugald made the decision to step away from the tools in 2015, focussing instead on refining the way we manage our projects and developing an experienced and connected team.
His emphasis on strong relationships, excellent communication and innovative thinking consistently delivers high quality projects to happy clients. Dugald gets to know everyone who works with us and his approachable nature and great connections throughout the region have seen our business recognised as a leader not just in the building industry but also in the business community.

Ellissia Campbell
Business Manager
Working alongside husband and Edifice Director Dugald, Ellissia is one of a growing number of regional women carving out a rewarding career in the building industry and providing pathways for others to do the same
An experienced leader with a background in real estate and property management, Ellissia oversees day-to-day operations, keeping projects rolling and the team aligned with goals and visions.
Her creative ‘outside the box’ thinking and exceptional process and organisational skills help bring our projects to life. When you work with us, you’ll work with Ellissia (lucky you). She’s hands-on with every job; getting to know our clients and their vision and ensuring we deliver an end product everyone loves.
Passionate about community, Ellissia created our favourite hashtag #buildingcommunity and is a firm believer that we have a role to play in developing not just the built but also the social and economic prosperity of our region.
Ellissia handles our sponsorship and community projects and is passionate about providing enriching career opportunities for local people, especially women.
Teagan Lambie
Office Manager
Since joining the Edifice team in 2018 Teagan’s role as Office Manager has expanded with her growing skills as a building professional.
Six years in real estate and several of her own renovation projects ignited a passion for property. Now Teagan has completed a Cert IV in Building and Construction and is well on her way to establishing herself in a traditionally male dominated industry.
Resourceful and highly organised, behind the scenes Teagan ensures our projects run smoothly. In front, she guides clients through the building process and makes sure the entire team including sub contractors, surveyors and planners are meeting deadlines and expectations.
You’ll see her regularly on site and hear from her throughout the building process.
Meeting with Teagan and the rest of the project management team is an important first step to working with us.
Sustainability
Reducing our own environmental footprint is where it starts for us. We buy local whenever possible, reducing carbon emissions as much as we can.
Yard recycling is set up to deal with cardboard, timbers, recyclables and general waste and we approach demolition on site with a view to re-using as many materials as possible. Old plaster and bricks are recycled rather than going to landfill and we always look for smart options when we need to source or remove clean fill.
In the office we use sustainable products and where possible like to operate a paperless system. We’re big supporters of the excellent Who Gives a Crap, who donate 50 per cent of profits to help build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world, and use their products in all our amenities
Our knowledge of sustainable building materials is strong and we’re committed to keeping up-to-speed with new developments. We also work closely with trusted second hand suppliers where appropriate.
Keeping our community sustainable is extremely important to us. We support local businesses and tradespeople and employ locally, giving back to the economy and providing local people, especially young people, with the opportunity to have a rewarding career right here at home.
We wanted someone who had experience with period homes, would listen to our ideas, was a good communicator and workmanship was to be of a very high standard. From our first meeting we knew Edifice was the company we had been searching for.
