Designed as a family retreat and built to capture the surrounding bush views this 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom home is clad with Colorbond, barestone cement sheet and spotted gum shiplap timber.
The brief was to create a home that was fun and different. This allowed for plenty of scope to play with materials, colours and more unusual design elements including bald feature tiles in the bathrooms, patterned tiling designed by the client and a repurposed doctor’s surgery kitchen with a hand-collected driftwood ceiling.
Large, double glazed windows bring the stunning vistas in, while black internal walls act as a frame and a large, 91m2 semi-enclosed deck features a custom-made day bed suspended from the ceiling.
A focus on quality and durability is apparent across the home including the custom flashing created for the Colorbond cladding, the adjustable galvanised steel subfloor and the installation of the timber cladding.
