This split-level, three-bedroom home hunkers into an east-facing slope adjoining Crown land. This orientation provided a particular design challenge in maximising north windows while optimising views to the east.
A strategically designed ‘sail’ roof and pergola frames along with double glazing low E Lightbridge glass windows and burnished concrete help moderate interior temperatures throughout the year and help visually anchor the building on the site.
The textures of the garden are balanced by a textured palette of materials – ribbed Colorbond TRIMDEK, radial timber, Birch ply, burnished concrete – creating a restful, rustic space in which to live.
