The client’s brief for this job was for a spacious, contemporary parent’s retreat, with a focus on minimalism and quality. The new Corten ‘pod’ was constructed over a cantilever slab as an extension to the previously renovated Victorian house.
Designed to optimise natural light and complement the established garden, the addition included a bedroom, en suite and reconfiguration of the existing study.
High-end materials and finishes including Corten A steel cladding, hardwood lined recess and Miglis double-glazed windows internal square set reveals and concealed doors feature throughout. Internal timber cladding was used to connect the extension to the existing home.
The minimalist feel, constructed with maximum detail has resulted in a light and spacious parents retreat.
